BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF NATURAL FORMULATION WITH PROPOLIS, LAVENDER AND THYME OIL ON CANDIDA SPECIES

Objective: Candida strains have been frequently associated with nosocomial infections in recent years. On the other hand, public prefer natural resources rather than synthetic materials. Therefore, it is important to research combine effects of products. This study aimed investigate antifungal and antibiofilm effectiveness essential oils propolis containing samples on species toxicity samples.
 Material-Method: Three different were prepared propolis, lavender oil thyme oil. Gas Chromatography-mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) GC/MS was used for determination organic compounds samples. The a product mix tested against C. albicans, krusei parapsilosis by disk diffusion method. MIC MFC tests mixture performed standard such as Nystatin. Antibiofilm microplate system, taking into account detected concentrations. Finally, cytotoxicity test investigated L929 cell line WST-1 kit.
 Results: albicans determined most sensitive (MIC50: 90 ppm, MIC90: 750 ppm MFC: 3120 ppm). In tests, that sample more effective inhibited biofilm formation. Also IC50 value 5052 ppm.
 Conclusion: mixture, which has scientifically proven effect, feature high added contributes economy. But course, further studies. findings this may lead new therapeutic approaches standardized products future.
